Sheepskin rugs as object, atmosphere, and art.

We create free-form sheepskin rugs, selected and arranged through Sabine’s artist’s eye, then crafted in Belgium by skilled makers.

Designed to live underfoot, across a bed, beside a bath, or layered into a sitting room, these pieces give designers a new way to shape atmosphere through natural material.

Born from sheep, land, material, and memory.

This work began with the sheep Sabine loved as a child, the home she inherited, the animals she still cares for, and the instinct she brings as an artist.

Sourced from around the world, crafted in Belgium

Sabine and her team source exceptional sheepskins from regions throughout Australia, New Zealand & Europe, including Iceland and Gotland, selecting hides for their unique texture, tone, shape, curl, length, and potential.

At the atelier in Belgium, each sheepskin rug is composed with Sabine’s artful eye and crafted with care, carrying the quiet authority of Belgian design: refined, thoughtful, and enduring.

Sourcing & Provenance

Composed by the eye of an artist.

A globally-acclaimed Belgian artist with more than two decades of studio experience, Sabine Maes composes genuine sheepskin rugs with the same sensitivity she brings to painting: tone, shape, light, contrast, balance, and movement.

She selects each sheep skin for its unique character, then arranges, moves, studies, and refines the composition until every rug has presence and balance.

Natural sheepskin offers texture, variation, resilience, and lanolin-rich protection that synthetic alternatives can’t replicate.

Discover how genuine sheepskin differs from faux, and why the distinction matters for an extraordinary interior.
